Protect your granite, marble, and other natural stones with a high-quality stone sealer from Italy. Tenax’s Hydrex and Proseal are two highly efficient stone care products which are worth having at home. Apply any of the two solutions on a dry slab and see it protect from within the stone’s surface. What’s more, both products provide an invisible protection against staining without affecting the stone’s appearance.

Hydrex and Proseal Stone Sealer

Hydrex is a water-repelling sealer ideal for vanity tops and other outdoor installations.

Proseal, on the other hand, is best for kitchen countertops as it shields stones against oil and water.

A simple experiment on a small piece of marble reveals the advantages of using any of the two products in your home.

Later, we pat dry the surface with a piece of cloth and here is the result:

  1. For the Unsealed Marble, all three liquids have penetrated its surface.
  2. The portion applied with Hydrex has had minimal discoloration from Soy Sauce and Cooking Oil. Water, however, was quickly wiped clean.
  3. Lastly, with Proseal, the surface was virtually unaffected. The stone sealer was able to repel the liquids placed in the treated area.

Our Review

Both products provide unmatched quality of protection for granitesmarbles, and even other natural stones, such as onyxes, and travertines. First, Hydrex and Proseal fill the pores of the stone. Then they penetrate the surface within minutes. Finally, once absorbed, they both repel liquids from within the slab.

Unlike other brands of stone sealer, these two products do not leave a thin film of coating once applied. Also, they do not alter the stone’s color and texture. They shield granites and marbles from staining without compromising any of the stones’ natural qualities.

Hydrex and Proseal are both easy to use. You can do it on your own without the help of a stone specialist. Just apply using a clean piece of cloth or with a paintbrush and let it dry. Remember: one coating is good, but we recommended applying a second layer after 24 hours for better protection.
