Volakas White is a magnesium carbonate-rich marble quarried in the Falakro mountain in Northern Greece.
Islands are great, but only if you have space. Before thinking of having one in your #kitchen, ask yourself first:⠀ ⠀ Will there be enough space in my kitchen if I add an #island?⠀ ⠀ Can I move between each area of the #WorkTriangle without distractions?⠀ ⠀ Will my cabinets, appliances, oven, and dishwasher open easily without obstruction?⠀ ⠀ http://buff.ly/2rlVoqN⠀ ⠀ #VolakasWhite #Marble #Cebu #Philippines
How Does Volakas White Look Like?
It is a fine-grained stone with ribbons of grayish and brownish veins which flow through an alabaster white background. The streaks run diagonally across the entire slab, permeating the surface with cloudy or wavy patterns. Moreover, grayish or red calcite lines and round-shaped calcite crystals may appear, too, in some pieces.
How Durable is the Marble Volakas White?
Much like the Carrara, the Volakas White is a timeless piece of beauty which exudes elegance and class in any installation. Being a natural product, it changes, ages, and wears over time. When unsealed, it is highly susceptible to staining and etching. Hence, it requires careful upkeep to maintain the look as it did the day you had it installed.
If you are the type of person who (1.) lives more casually and (2.) loves the character and beauty that a stone develops over continued use, it may just be the perfect countertop material for your kitchen.
